The jujube tree is a deciduous tree or shrub of the Rhamnaceae family. It is native to my country. There are 100 species in the world and 13 species in my country. They are all nectar plants. The nectaries of jujube trees are located on the flower disc of the stamens and ovaries. The flower disc is developed and specialized into thick nectary tissue. There are day-blooming and night-blooming types. The former blooms from 10:00 to 14:00, and the latter blooms from 22:00 to 3 or 5:00. The amount of honey secreted by jujube flowers is positively correlated with the number of jujube hangings on the jujube stalks and the number of leaves on the jujube hangings. Generally, there are more than 3 jujube hangings on the jujube stalks, and one jujube hanging has more than 7 leaves. The flowers are abundant and the honey is abundant. Jujube flowers secrete abundant nectar. The nectar accumulates in drops on the flower disc, crystal clear as beads, with more honey and less powder.

Jujube trees are mainly distributed in North China and Northwest my country. Shandong, Hebei, and Henan provinces account for more than 50% of the total jujube tree area in the country, followed by Shaanxi, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Beijing and other provinces, regions, and cities.

The flowering period of jujube trees varies depending on the species, propagation methods and distribution. Small jujubes bloom earliest, followed by big jujubes, and long jujubes are the last. The difference between varieties is about 7 days. Those propagated by grafting bloom early, while those propagated by germination bloom late. The main production area begins in mid-May in the southern part of North China and early June in the north. The flowering period lasts 25-30 days.
